Recorded in a rented villa in Madrid and remixed at Studio Guillaume Tell in Paris, Condemnation is the 29th single by Depeche Mode (and their 23rd in the US). Originally released on 13 September 1993, it was not issued as a commercial 7-inch in the UK. Some 18 months before the release of Condemnation, the original shorter version of its B-side, Death’s Door, had already appeared on a soundtrack, and a flexi-disc featuring the ‘Jazz Mix’ had been sent exclusively to members of the official fan club. Death’s Door was recorded and mixed at Konk Studios in London.
