Depeche Mode – singles sung by Martin Gore
The vast majority of Depeche Mode singles are sung by frontman David Gahan, whose deep baritone voice is often complemented by Martin Gore’s tenor backing vocals. But sometimes Gahan’s voice needs a break, and the four singles below feature Gore as the lead singer (Blasphemous Rumours is sung by Gahan). As a seasoned Depeche Mode fan, you won’t be surprised to know that all of these songs have a ballad-like quality.
During the band’s many tours, Gore has also solo-sung the singles Leave In Silence, Shake The Disease, But Not Tonight, Strangelove, Little 15, Condemnation, Only When I Lose Myself, Freelove, and Heaven, transforming the original versions into acoustic ballads.
Bonus information if you just can’t get enough; every Depeche Mode studio album, apart from A Broken Frame, features songs with Martin Gore as the lead singer. The same goes for a few other tracks. In total, there are 27 of them, and in chronological order they are:
