Released week by week during the summer of 2009, The Collection is an official Depeche Mode box set consisting of the 11 studio albums from Speak & Spell to Playing The Angel, plus the DVD Touring The Angel – Live in Milan. The 12 discs were distributed with the Italian television magazine TV Sorrisi e Canzoni, published by Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, which is the biggest media company in the country. Starting with Music For The Masses, the albums were not released chronologically, and the box itself was made available in the second week of the campaign. The Collection does not offer any previously unreleased tracks but is still in demand among collectors.
