Running from 1980 to 1983, Flexipop was a British music magazine that included a coloured flexi-disc in most of its issues. Sometimes I Wish I Was Dead came with the 11th issue in September 1981, alongside King Of The Flies by Fad Gadget. A slightly modified version of the song, titled I Sometimes Wish I Was Dead, is featured on the original UK edition of Depeche Mode’s debut album, Speak & Spell, released about three weeks after the appearance of this flexi-disc. A replica of the original flexi-disc is included in the 2018 box set collection Speak & Spell | The 12″ Singles.
