Released on 26 October 1998, The Singles 81>85 is the fifth compilation album by Depeche Mode. It’s a remastered and redesigned version of the original The Singles 81→85 from 1985 and features all of the band’s 15 first singles, as well as two additional tracks. About a month before this release, the following 21 singles were released as the compilation The Singles 86>98. The release of The Singles 81>85 coincided with that of the reissued home video Some Great Videos 81>85. Over the years, the compilation album has been reissued on CD several times.
