During the 1980’s, the UK weekly music magazine Record Mirror, published between 1954 and 1991, issued several 7-inch EP compilations featuring various exclusive tracks. In 1986, Dressed In Black by Depeche Mode was pre-released with the magazine, six weeks before appearing on the band’s studio album Black Celebration. The Record Mirror version of Dressed In Black is quite different from the album version and unique as the only official release on vinyl. In 2020, it was released on CD as one of the bonus tracks included in the box set MODE.
